Ingredients

Fresh strawberries, pureed and strained to make about 2 cups.
    3 tablespoons lemon juice
    1 cup sugar
    2 cups 2% Milk
    1 cup heavy cream
    1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Directions

Freeze ice cream maker bowl according to manufacturer instructions.

Puree enough strawberries to make about 2 cups strawberry liquid. Pour through strainer to make a more concentrated, smoother texture. Make sure you have about 2 cups liquid at the end. Add lemon juice. Put into the refrigerator until chilled to about 40F.

Whisk together sugar and milk until sugar is dissolved. Stir in heavy cream. Stir strawberry mixture. Should have about 5 cups strawberry mixture total.

Turn on ice cream maker with freezer bowl in place. Add mixture according to manufacturer instructions. Worked best for me to make it in batches of 3 cups at a time, refreezing bowl between batches.

Let churn for about 20-30 minutes, or until mixture is 'soft serve' ice cream texture. Put in container and freeze to harden, if desired.
