Introduction

Quick, inexpensive, and easy chili. Great cooked in the crockpot too. Freezes well. I put individual portions in a small freezer bag, then thaw and heat in the microwave for a quick meal.
South Beach and Atkins(phase 2 and up) friendly.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef, crumbled, cooked, and drained well
(73% lean used in this recipe)
1 15oz can Contidina or Hunts all natural tomato sauce (both are low in sugar)
    1 15oz can Bush's chili beans
1 pkg McCormick chili seasoning (hot or mild to taste)
2 c. water (less if you like the chili thicker, but please remember it will change the calorie/fat/carb count of the recipe)

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a large sauce pan. Heat to boiling, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes. (Chili will look a little thin at first, but will thicken some as it cooks.)
Crockpot - combine all ingredients in the crockpot, cook on high for 4-5 hours or low for 6-8 hours.
Serve plain or with a sprinkle of your favorite cheese, chopped onions, or hot peppers.
