Ingredients
-
1 whole chicken
1 - 12 oz package egg noodles
1c chicken broth (can make with boullion and water)
Salt and Pepper
1 Bay Leaf
Directions
Place whole chicken in crock pot
Sprinkle with Salt and Pepper (to taste) or whatever other seasonings you like
Pour in 1c chicken broth
Drop in Bay Leaf
Turn on crock pot to low setting, cook all day (mine usually cooks about 11 hours and does fine)
At the end of the day, remove chicken from crockpot, debone and remove skin
Tear chicken meat apart and place back in crockpot in remaining broth
Remove bay leaf
Stir in bag of Egg Noodles
Add enough water to cook noodles
Turn crockpot to high, cover and cook until noodles are tender (around 20 minutes or so - you could also cook the noodles in a pot on the stove and add the cooked noodles to the chicken and broth)
*If you like a creamier texture you can add a can of cream of chicken soup. This is delicious - though you will have to re-calculate the calories as it is not included here.
