    2c flour
    1.5 c sugar
    2 t baking powder
    .75 t salt
    1/3 c shortening
    1/3 c butter
    3/4 c milk
    3 lg eggs
    1 t vanilla


Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour two 8" rounds. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together in a large mixing bowl. Add remaining ingredients to flour mixture. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping the bowl constantly. Turn mixer to high speed and beat for 3 minutes, scraping bowl often. Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cake begins to pull away from sides of pan and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack. Frost with Betty Crocker Whipped Butter Cream Icing.
