    2 cans (16 oz.) Bush's Best Chili Beans
    1 lb. extra lean ground beef (93% lean)
    1 cup chopped onion
    1 cup chopped green pepper
    1 can (14 1/2 oz.) diced tomaotes (no salt added)
    1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
    1/2 cup water
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tbsp. chili powder
    2 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. sugar


In large pan cook beef, onion and green pepper until meat is browned. Drain excess grease. Stir in remainig ingredients. Bring to boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

May garnish with shredded cheddar cheese if desired.

Makes 6 servings.

    This is a great hearty chili, which is easy to spice up with some extra chili powder, and some diced tomatoes with dice chilies in them. Also great for the crock pot. - 1/27/11
