Ingredients

1 lb. Ground beef (calculated with 80% lean)
1 large pinch kosher salt
2 cloves garlic
1 can red beans
1 tablespoon Chili powder
.5 teaspoon unsweeted cocoa powder
1.5 teaspoon ground cumin seed
.5 teaspoon paprika, preferably smoked
1 teaspoon onion powder
a generous shake of Adobo seasoning (optional)
.25 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
.25 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 sprigs fresh oregano, finely chopped
.25 cup water
juice of 1 lime
Directions
Brown ground beef with minced garlic and large pinch of kosher salt. Drain fat and return to pan. Drain and rinse red beans and add to pan. Mix in all other ingredients and simmer gently for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve with taco shells or tortillas, and plenty of lettuce, tomato and fresh cilantro.
