Ingredients
-
Dough
1.25 c almond meal
1.25 c flax meal
1 c soft, pitted dates, packed
1/8 water
1/4 tsp salt
dash of cayenne
1/4 c coconut oil
---------------------
Cinnamon Paste
1 c soft, pitted dates, packed
1 c raisins
2 tbsp cinnamon
1/8 water
extra raisins and walnuts (1/4 c each or to taste/optional)
Directions
Blend the first cup of dates and water in a food processor.
Combine remaining dough ingredients with date paste.
Blend all Cinnamon paste ingredients.
Fold into dough mixture along with extra walnuts and raisins.
*You can experiment with using less flax and more almond meal instead for a lighter colour, but the flax is what binds it together.
Roll into 'bouncy ball' sized balls, spread out over cookie sheet.
Dehydrate if you would like an authentic raw vegan dish, or just warm in the oven for 15 minutes. Do not need to be cooked.
Serving Size: makes 56 round balls slightly smaller than donut holes
