Introduction

Delicious high protein black bean burgers that are easy to make and virtually fat free! Delicious high protein black bean burgers that are easy to make and virtually fat free!
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    Black beans, 2 cups
    Panko Bread Crumbs, 0.75 cups
    Vital Wheat Gluten, 0.5 cup
    Bouillon, Beef Base, Better Than Bouillon, 1 tsp
    Water, 1.5 cups
    Ground Cumin, 1.5 tsp
    Garlic Powder, 2 tsp
    Ground Mustard,.0 .5 tsp
    Crushed Red Pepper Flakes, 0.5 tsp

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Bring 1 cup of water to boiling. When boiling, add 1 tsp of Better than Bouillon, Beef Base. Stir well.

In a food processer, combine all ingredients (including broth from previous directions) and process. When all ingredients are combined well, you should end up with a thick, doughy like burger mix.

Form burger mix into six patties. Place burger patties into a greased pan or baking sheet. Bake at 450 F for 25 minutes.

  • Bouillon, Beef Base, Better Than Bouillon is not vegan. I plan to try this recipe with other spices. I'll post how they turn out! - 8/15/11
