Ingredients
-
5 cups of chicken broth
2 cups of water
1 16 oz package of jimmy dean italian sausage
5 potatoes (any type will do. Just cut into cubes)
2 Kale stalks or bushells or a bag how ever you can get it
1 cup of bacon bits or you can use real bacon
16 fl oz of heavy whipping cream (if you do just a small batch of this use 1/2 of the whipping cream
salt and pepper.
Directions
I usually do this in the crockpot. So I add the 5 cups of chicken broth, and 2 cups of water. I let the broth heat up for about 30 minutes. While the broth and water are heating I cook the sausage. (you can add fresh garlic to the sausage and add it all to the broth) Strain any fat from the sausage and add to the broth. Then cut up 5 potatoes into cubes and add them into the broth. Also at this time add the bacon bits or real bacon. Then let the broth and meat and potatoes sit in the crockpot on low over night. In the morning add the kale and let sit for an hour in the crockpot on low. Finish up by adding the heavy whipping cream. Let sit for about an hour then serve up.
