This is a great dish. I did not use the bbq but substituted 1/4 cup sweet red chili sauce instead, super tasty! - 4/14/10

I used pork too. We really enjoyed this. I think next time I will cut the chicken into bite size and see how that works. - 3/13/08

I don't like how the recipe claims half a chicken breast is a "serving". I put in considerably less ginger and served it with salad. "Orange chicken" at a Chinese buffet is basically orange jello on chicken - of course this isn't going to be like that! This, however, is very easy to make and tasty. - 7/3/10

I made this last night. It was good, although I agree with the others that maybe the name should be altered a bit. It doesn't really taste like the orange chicken you're used to. But it was still good. - 4/17/08

I really liked this. It's more like a pulled pork bbq thing than the asian orange chicken, but it's very good served on rice. My whole family liked it. - 2/16/08

My kids & I loved this recipe. I thought the orange Marmalade was a little tangy for me so I will use a little less next time but awesome!!! I also made it with diced pork for a different taste. - 1/15/08

  • This is a nice change from the usual way I make my chicken, but I left out the bar-b-que sauce, to me it didn't work with the ginger, soy and marmalade. it was delicious and enjoyed by my family. - 3/19/16

  • Easy to make, just a different kind of sauce. Better than take out and a nice choice once in a while - 3/19/16

very good. not like restaurant orange chicken, but better in some ways. i'll tweak it a little next time. but my complaint is that half a chicken breast isn't a real serving. at least not if you're a gal with a healthy appetite like mine. i wish this site would be a little more realistic. - 3/19/16

  • Didn't have enough time to do the crockpot so I used my broaster (pressure cooker like pan, with pressure cap.). I used up some marmalade that I had, and added a cup of tropical fruits, blended in with some arrowroot powder for thickening. Was good enough my teenaged son loved it, fruit and all! - 8/20/15

  • I would like to eliminate High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) completely from my diet. Jack Daniels BBQ sauce has HFCS. Any ideas for a substitution? - 12/29/14
