Ingredients

    Crust:
    2 C flour
    2/3 C shortening
    1/2 tsp salt

    Filling:
    5 C sliced green tomatoes
    1 1/4 C sugar
    3 Tbsp corn starch
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
    1 Tbsp lemon juice
    1 tsp grated lemon rind

    Cut shortening into flour and salt till consistency of cornmeal. Add enough ice water to make pastry.

    Mix all ingredients for filling, pour into pie shell, top with pie crust. Bake at 400 for 35-45 minutes.
