Introduction

My grandmother's old family recipe for Spanish Rice. My grandmother's old family recipe for Spanish Rice.
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    5 cups of water
    3 cups of rice(white, long grain)
    1 small can of tomato sauce
    1 achiote spice packet
    1/2 cup of vegetable oil
    10 Spanish olives
    1/2 Onion(diced)
    2 pork chops (diced)
    1 can of gandules
    2 tsp of salt
    2 tsp of garlic salt
    1 tsp of black pepper

Directions

1. put the water in the pot with oil and tomato sauce
2. add spices
3. bring to boil
4. add all other ingredients
5. let it boil until rice soaks up the water and most of the moisture is gone(this should be about 15 min. into the cooking process)
6. put the burner on low for 15 or 20 more min.
7. enjoy
