Ingredients

1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup black eyed peas, pureed
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
6 tablespoons evaporated skim milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 cup flour
2/3 cup cocoa
pinch salt
1/2 cup slivered almonds
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F, grease an 8" square pan.
Cream butter, black-eyed pea puree and sugars.
Add eggs and beat well. Beat in milk and vanilla.
Sift together the flour, cocoa powder and salt, stir into the creamed mixture.
Stir in the almonds.
Spread brownies in prepared pan.
Bake 25 minutes and cool completely before cutting.
