Ingredients
-
1/2 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
1/3 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa
2 TBS Wheat Bran
2 TBS Wheat Germ
2 TBS Oat Bran
1 Tsp Baking Powder
1 Tsp Salt
1/2 Cup Canola Oil
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
1 Tsp Vanilla
3 TBS Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips(optional)
3 TBS Chopped Walnuts (optional)
Tips
These brownies have a different texture than regular brownies due to the addition of the wheat bran, germ and oat bran. If batter is too thick for your liking add a tablespoon of water at a time until desired consistency is reached (Batter is normally thick). The addition of chocolate chips and walnuts is highly recommended!
Directions
1. Grease a 8x8 or 9x9 square pan & preheat oven to 350.
2.In a medium bowl mix flour, cocoa, wheat bran, wheat germ, oat bran, baking powder & salt.
3.In a large bowl mix the oil, sugar & vanilla. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
4.Add dry ingredients to wet. Mix until blended. The mixture will be thick.
5.Put into greased 8x8 or 9x9 square pan. Sprinkle the chocolate chips & walnuts on top.
6. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Check the brownies at 15 minutes. When tooth pick inserted into the center comes out clean the brownies are done (make sure you don't hit the chocolate chips). Do not over bake!
