Ingredients
-
2 tablespoons wheat bran
2 tablespoons flax meal
1 tablespoon of vanilla whey protein powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup egg white or egg substitute
a dash of salt
Tips
Only 4 net carb. Feel free to improvise on flavors, sweet or savory. The vanilla protein powder only gives a finer texture than regular flax bread, no actual flavor.
Directions
You can make this in a microwaveable plastic container and then pack it in your lunch, or any container of a suitable shape and size for your need.
put all the dry ingregient and mix thoroughly with a fork, add the egg white and mix until smooth, nice and bubbly. Cook for 80 seconds.
OR, BEFORE you cook, here's the fun part (NOTE: none of these are in the nutrional value calculation):
add some sugar free flavored syrup or jam, extracts, diced fruit, pumpkin, cocoa powder, cinnamon/spices- or, if you are feeling savory a chopped up sausage or ham, shredded cheddar or some parmesan cheese, garlic powder... you get the idea...
mix it all well with a fork, cook in the microwave.
turn out, slice and enjoy!
makes 2 or 4 slices depending on shape of the container used.
