Ingredients

    1 peck (.25 bushel) tomatoes, peeled and chopped
    .5 cup white sugar
    1.5 cups salt
    .5 cup vegetable oil
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    2.5 cups yellow onions, chopped
    2.5 cups green bell peppers, chopped
    1 tsp red pepper flakes

Tips

If you don't want to can the chili sauce, it will freeze beautifully for about 4 to 6 months. This makes a great gift for your friends.!!


Directions

cook tomatoes and push through sieve. Cook juice in large kettle until no water shows when stirring then add sugar, salt, oil, garlic and red pepper. Boil about 1 hour then put in jars and cold pack 10 minutes or longer.
