Ingredients

    2 Cups Rolled Oats
    2 Cups Raw Sunflower Seeds
    2 Cups Raw Wheat Germ
    1 Cup Raw Sesame Seeds
    1 Cup Walnuts, broken
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar, firmed packed....or use less
1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil, such as Canola Oil...or use less
    1 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Agave Nectar, or Honey
    2 Tablespoons Pure Vanilla Extract
    1/2 Cup Flaked Coconut (optional)

Tips

Be sure to use raw seeds/nuts and untoasted wheat germ (though toasted wheat germ will work). You can adjust sweeteners and oil to your taste.

Directions

Combine dry ingredients. Combine water, oil, brown sugar, agave nectar and vanilla in a microwave proof measuring cup...warm in microwave for 15-20 seconds to help dissolve brown sugar. Mix together thoroughly -- dry ingredients should be evenly moist. Pour into a large baking or casserole dish (15" or larger, UNgreased). Bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Ingredients should be lightly toasted. Remove immediately when wheat germ is toasted. DO NOT OVER BAKE. Allow to cool completely and store in tightly covered container.

Serving Size: 1/4 cup with your morning yogurt or smoothie. Recipe makes 11 cups of Granola.
