4 oz (dry) Dreamfields Penna Rigate
6 oz Jimmy Dean Italian Sausage (cooked & Crumbled
1 Cup 2% Cottage Cheese Drained
1/4 C Egg Beaters Egg Whites
1 1/2 C Mozzarella
16 oz Prego Spaghetti Sauce
1/4 C. Parmesan Cheese
1/2 C. Diced Onion
1 C. Chopped Mushrooms
3 tsp Granulated Garlic
1 Tbsp Dried Basil Leaf
1/2 Tbsp Italian Seasoning
2 tsp Salt
Tips
Pairs well with Sauteed Zucchini and Yellow Squash.
Directions
Preheat oven to 350F
1) In 5 Qt Pot Brown Italian Sausage with Onions; add mushrooms for the last 3 -5 minutes. Remove from Pot with Slotted spoon allowing to drain. (Keep Drippings in Pot)Set aside in large bowl.
2) Add 3 Qts Hot water to pot and bring to boil, add salt and Penna Rigate and Boil 12-13 Minutes then drain then add to meat in large bowl
3) in a small bow combine Cottage cheese, egg whites, 3/4 C. Mozzarella ,2 Tbsp Parmesan, Basil, Italian Seasoning and Granulated garlic; add to large bowl.
4) lightly spray 8"x8" Baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Coat bottom of baking dish with 4 oz Spaghetti sauce then ad remaining Spaghetti sauce to large bowl and fold all together well. then pour into baking dish; Cover with foil, place in oven and bake 45 minuets. Remove foil, top with remaining Mozzarella then Parmesan cheeses and bake 15 minutes more. Remove from oven and let stand 10-15 minutes before cutting and serving.
