Introduction

Just a yummy quiche. Just a yummy quiche.
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    Crust:
1.5 c flour (I use whole wheat, but any would do)
    2 tsp sugar
    1 tsp salt
    1/2 c oil
    2 Tbs milk

    Filling:
    4 eggs
    1 c milk
    1 Ib ground sausage, browned
    1/2 onion, chopped
    3 Tbs shredded cheese
    Salt and pepper to taste

Tips

This crust recipe is an excellent all purpose quick crust. If you wanted to use it for something sweet, then decrease or omit the salt. Also, I used extra virgin olive oil for this recipe, but it does have a stronger flavor. Use whatever oil you prefer.

Also feel free to up the veggies or decrease the sausage or whatever you would like to do. This is just a basic quiche recipe. Sometimes I do all veggie, some times I've used bacon and veggies. Or use whatever you have in the fridge!

Directions

First, if you haven't already browned you sausage, do that first. I had a local sausage so it wasn't quite as fatty as store bought. But drain, either way, when finished cooking.

Preheat oven to 375.

Next, mix all the crust ingredients together very well. Press in to the bottom of an 8x10 inch dish. It should fill the bottom of the dish and come up the sides just a bit. Or for a thicker crust, just press evenly around the bottom. Use a fork to poke holes all in the crust to keep it from puffing up too much when cooking.

Next, beat the eggs and milk together gently. Don't over beat. Add salt and pepper (or any other seasonings) as desired. Pour over crust. Distribute sausage evenly through out the egg milk. Sprinkle the onion all around as well. Then sprinkle the cheese over the top of the mixture.

Place in oven and cook 30 - 40 minutes until golden browned and fluffy and a knife poked in the middle comes out clean.

Cut and serve.
