Ingredients

1 box cake mix, this recipe uses yellow cake mix, pudding style; I have made it with Angle food cake mix and with Pound cake (according to package directions), all come out well
3 medium eggs
1/3 cup oil
3/4 cup water
1 apple finely chopped
1 can pineapple chucks or slices, drained and finely chopped (I use food processor)
1/4 cup honey
season to taste with cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice
for topping:
4 tbs stick margarine
2 apples finely chopped
1/4 cup honey
3/4 cup brown sugar
2-3 tbs 2% milk
cinnamon, etc. to taste
Tips
This cake is very, very moist and should be kept in the refridgerator until ready to eat. It is good eaten cold, or warmed up.
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
Mix together cake mix, eggs, water, oil, honey, and cinnamon, etc. until well blended. Stir in apple and pineapple; pour into greased cake pan.
Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes until done. While baking, begin to prepare topping--mix together softened margarine, brown sugar, milk, honey and cinnamon until creamy; stir in apples.
When cake is done, turn oven on broil; spread topping evenly over cake and put under broiler for about 3 minutes.
Serving Size: makes one 9x13 cake, cut into 18 servings
