Introduction
Great weeknight recipe for a family style meal. Just like my mom used to make. Great weeknight recipe for a family style meal. Just like my mom used to make.Number of Servings: 6
Ingredients
-
1/2-1 lb of 90% or higher fresh lean ground beef
1 jar (26 oz) Ragu traditional spaghetti sauce
1 box Barilla Plus Angel Hair Pasta
Salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste
Tips
Great served with french bread or a side salad.
Directions
Fill a large pot with enough water to cook the pasta. Optional, salt the water with about 2 tablespoons of salt. Bring the water to a boil and add the pasta, stirring often to prevent sticking. Cook until al dente then drain. Do not rinse! That will prevent the sauce from sticking.
While the pasta is cooking, heat a medium sauce pot on medium high. Add the fresh ground beef to the pot then lightly season with the salt, pepper, and garlic to taste. Cook the ground beef until browning starts to occur. The browning on the bottom of the pot will add flavor. Just be careful not to overcook the meat. Add the sauce, stir, and cover with a lid. Simmer the sauce on low until the pasta is done.
Combine the sauce and noodles in the large spaghetti pot. Serve.
Serving Size: Makes enough pasta for a family of 5-8 using 2 oz servings
