Introduction

Baked oatmeal is a favorite PA Dutch breakfast. The original recipe calls for twice the sugar and oil instead of applesauce, whole eggs and milk. This recipe is loved by my family without all the fat and less sugar. My family likes it warm with alittle milk poured over it (calories not included) Baked oatmeal is a favorite PA Dutch breakfast. Ingredients

    4 cups rolled oats
    3 Tbl of baking powder
    1.5 tsp salt (optional)
    1/2 cup brown sugar loosly packed
    1/3 cup egg whites
    1 cup skim milk
    3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1 Tbl maple syrup
    1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions

Preheat oven to 350. Spray casarole oven dish with pan spray. Mix all ingredients and pour in. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
