Ingredients
-
2 lbs. Lean Ground Turkey
2 Large Eggs
1 cup Gluten Free Bread Crumbs
2 Mozzarella String Cheese Sticks cut into 12 total pieces
1 tsp Basil
1 tsp Italian Seasoning
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Onion Powder
Salt & Ground Black Pepper to taste
Tips
After the meatballs are cooked I like to put them in a pot of sauce and simmer them for a few hours, so they can absorb the sauce.
You can serve them as is or with pasta.
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 400
2. Mix all ingredients, except string cheese, in a large mixing bowl. Use your hands to get everything mixed in well.
3. Make a meatball about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Divide the ball in half, press in mozzarella cheese, and firmly pack the meat around the cheese. Make your balls tight.
4. Spray a baking sheet with non stick spray. Place your meatballs on the sheet.
5. Bake at 400 for 15 minutes, turn the balls over, and bake another 15 minutes.
