Ingredients

    1.25 C Heavy Whipping Cream
    1.5 C Cane Sugar
    1 C Cocoa
    .75 C Butter
    2 tsp Vanilla
    1/8 tsp salt

Tips

If you don't have heavy whipping cream it is unlikely that it will get thick but it will still taste amazing and if the cake is still warm when you put it on it is even better.


Directions

1. In a medium saucepan, bring cream and sugar to a boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer, stirring occasionally, until slightly reduced, 5 to 6 minutes.

2. Pour the cream mixture into a medium bowl. Add the chocolate, butter, vanilla and salt. Let the mixture stand, stirring it occasionally until chocolate and butter are fully melted.

3. Fill a large bowl halfway with ice and water. Set the bowl with the chocolate mixture in the ice water and beat frosting at medium speed until thick and shinny, about 5 minutes. Use immediately.
