Introduction

My mother use to fix this and serve it over grits. My mother use to fix this and serve it over grits.

Ingredients

    1lb Beef liver
    2 med onions sliced in rings
    1tbs olive oil
    1tbs onion powder
    1tbs garlic powder
    1tsp black powder
    1/2c Mootopia 2% milk
    2tsp kitchen bouquet
    1/2c water
    2tbs King Author white wheat flour


Tips

Serve over toast, mashed potatoes, grits, noodles or rice. be sure to add calories from what ever you serve it over.


Directions

wash liver. separate and cut liver into 6 portions. Let soak in milk while you cut onions into thin rings. Spray bottom of heavy deep skillet. Cover bottom of pan with 1/2 of the onion rings. Remove liver from milk letting excess milk drip back on bowl. (save this milk.) lay liver on top of the onion rings. Sprinkle with some of the black pepper. Lay rest of onion rings on top of liver to cover it. If you don't have enough to cover you can cut more. pour olive oil over top of liver and onions. Cover skillet and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes. Turn liver over and push under onions and liquid in pot. add water to skillet. Mix flour with some liquid from skillet making sure it is smooth and not lumpy. gradually mix into liquid in skillet. cook 15 more minutes. Add milk and cook until thickens.
