Introduction

I created this recipe in a boring afternoon and my family loved it! I used white sugar, but next time I'll try brown sugar, for I believe it will add flavor and make it healthier. The oat bran gives a delicious texture to the cake, I've using it in all my cakes lately: 1 cup of oat bran and 1 of flour. If you make any addition to it, let me know. I hope you like it! Ingredients

    Batter:
    - 5 eggs
    - 1 cup butter
    - 1 cup white or brown sugar (your choice)
    - 1/2 cup honey
    - 1 cup oat bran
    - 1 cup all-purpose flour
    - 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    - 1 cup buttermilk
    - zest and juice of 1 orange
    - cinnamon
    - nutmeg
    - 4 squares of dark chocolate, melted
    - 1 tablespoon baking powder

    "Nutella" cream
    - 1 large bar dark chocolate
    - 1 cup heavy cream
    - 1/2 cup hazelnuts

Tips

Be very careful and delicate when folding the egg whites in, for it makes a huge difference for a fluffy cake.

Directions

Separate egg whites and beat until it forms peaks. Put it in the fridge.
Beat yolks, sugar and butter together until it forms a cream.
Add oat bran, flour, cocoa, honey, buttermilk and mix.
Zest the whole orange in, squeeze the juice in, add cinnamon, nutmeg, melted dark chocolate and mix.
Add the baking powder and mix.
With a spoon, add and fold the egg whites in delicately.
Bake for 40 minutes.

For the "nutella" cream, warm up the heavy and mix it with the dark chocolate in the food processor until it makes a cream. Add the hazelnuts and beat as much as you like; little time if you want pieces or longer if you don't (I prefer with pieces).

Poke the cake still warm and spread the cream over it. Enjoy!
