Ingredients

5 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
4-1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 cup buttermilk
2/3 cup water
1/4 cup butter
2 eggs
Tips
Also makes excellent dinner rolls. Just reduce the size of the rolls and shorten the baking time to about 15 minutes.
Directions
Mix 2 cups flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
Combine milk, water. Heat to 120-130 degrees (3 and a half minutes on power 5 in microwave). Butter does not need to be melted.
Gradually add to dry ingredients and beat for 2 minutes at medium speed, scraping bowl often.
Add eggs and 3/4 cup flour. Beat at high speed for 2 minutes.
Stir in remaining flour. Dough should be stiff.
Turn onto floured surface and knead for 8 to 10 minutes.
Cover with plastic wrap, then a towel. Rest for 20 minutes.
Divide and form onto greased or parchmented pan.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 2 to 24 hours.
When ready to bake, uncover and warm at room temperature for 10 minutes.
Bake at 375 F for 20 minutes.
