Ingredients

    3 T water
    2 cups chicken broth
    1 6-oz. can tomato paste
    3 T olive oil
    4 T chili powder
    1 tsp. ground cumin
    1 tsp. oregano
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. xanthan gum

Tips

Mixing the xanthan gum with the spices before adding to the sauce may help avoid lumps.


Directions

Mix all ingredients in a saucepan. Stir until well mixed - use an immersion blender, if needed. Heat to a simmer. Cook over medium heat until the sauce thickens and becomes smooth. Use in your favorite recipe.
