Ingredients

    1 cup vegetable shortening
    1 cup or 1 stick of butter
    1-2 tbs. milk as needed
    1-2 tbs. water as needed
    1 tbs. meringue powder
    1tsp. clear vanilla extract
    1 tsp. butter flavoring
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    2 lbs. powdered sugar

Tips

wilton makes the best clear vanilla extract and butter flavoring. you may not need all the powdered sugar. and depending on humidity you may not need water.


Directions

cream together butter an shortening (approx. 5 min.) add in the almond and vanilla extract and butter flavoring mix til blended. then add in your meringue powder and half the bag of powdered sugar mix til blended, add 1/4 of remaining powdered sugar at a time making sure its well blended add a tbs. of water at a time. when it gets really thick an hard to mix add a tbs. of milk at a time.

Serving Size: makes enough to icing a 8 in. 3 layer or 13x9 cake
