Introduction

Ingredients

1 lb ground white meat turkey (7g fat or less)
1 lb lean ground beef (4 g fat or less)
1/4 c seasoned bread crumbs and 1 slice of stale bread or hamburg roll
1/4 c finely minced onion
2 crushed garlic cloves or 1 tsp garlic powder
1 egg
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp basil
Mix all ingredients together well. Shape into 3 oz balls. Spray cookie sheet with Pam or other cooking spray and bake meatballs at 400 for 10 min- turn and bake another 5 min.
Add to sauce. Makes approx 20-22 meatballs.
Tips
You can use any jarred sauce you prefer but Trader Joe's marinara with mushrooms has 0 fat and it tastes delicious.
Directions
Sauce- Mince 2-3 garlic cloves, 1 med. onion and 4 oz. mushrooms and saute in 1 tbp EVOO until tender. Add 1 jar Trader Joe's sauce and 1 can organic, diced tomatoes. Season with basil, oregano and bay leaves. Add meatballs to sauce and simmer for approx 60 min.
