Ingredients



    Apples, fresh with skin, 12 medium (2-3/4" dia) (approx 3 per l (remove)
    Brown Sugar, .5 cup, packed (remove)
    Water, tap, 1 cup (8 fl oz) (remove)
    Cinnamon, ground, 4 tsp (remove)
    Lemon juice, 1 tbsp (remove)
    Allspice, 1 tsp (remove)
    Nutmeg, ground, .5 tsp (remove)
    Cloves, ground, .25 tsp (remove)

Directions

1. After peeling, coring and slicing apples, place them in a crockpot and sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent browning.
2. In a bowl, mix brown sugar and spices together.
3. Add water, sugar and spice mix to crockpot. Mix well so that all apples are coated evenly.
4. Cook on high for 3 hours, occasionally mashing down apple chunks with a potato masher.
5. Taste and adjust seasoning accordingly.
6. Turn heat down to low and continue to cook for 2 hours, mashing occasinally.

Serving Size: makes 10-12 2/3 cup servings
