Introduction

Tumeric tea is great for a number of ailments. We keep a jar of the basic mix in the frig and make up the hot milk tea nightly before bedtime. Spices can be modified to suit your tastes. Ingredients

    3 C. Coconut Milk OR 1 can coconut milk plus 1 C. water
    1 t. Tumeric powder
    1 t. Cinnamon, ground
    1 t. Raw Honey OR Maple Syrup to taste
    Pinch of Black Pepper (increases absorbtion)
    1/4 t. ground ginger powder OR tiny piece of fresh, peeled ginger root
    Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional- I leave it out of mine but my husband likes it in his)




Tips

This tea milk boosts the immune system. I add more of the spices to my cup of hot milk when I ache from arthritis or fibro or when I do not feel well otherwise.


Directions

Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth. Pour into a small saucepan and heat 3-5 minutes over medium heat until hot but not boiling. Drink immediately.
We omit the black pepper and drink with a whole peppercorn or two. Can also whirl in the blender with a bit of butter if you can afford the calories for a smoother drink.
