1/2 cup of flour (or enough so the dough isn't too sticky)
1/2 tsp salt

In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil.
mix together pumpkin, flour, and salt. Add more flour if the dough is too sticky.
Roll doll out into logs, until thickness of your thumb. Cut into 1 inch pieces. Roll each piece between fork and thumb, so that the bottom has a small indent and the top has fork marks.
Put pieces into boiling water. Pieces should lay single layer on the bottom of the pan. Do not overcrowd.
Pieces can are done and can be spooned out when they rise to the top of the boiling water.
Sauce
Put butter and herbs in pan over medium heat. Allow the butter to melt and cook until browned. Keep a close eye to make sure the butter doesn't burn.
