Introduction

My basic steel-cut oatmeal recipe. Just sweet enough - the PB2 & sunflower seeds make it stick to your belly more. My basic steel-cut oatmeal recipe. Just sweet enough - the PB2 & sunflower seeds make it stick to your belly more.

Ingredients

    3 cups water
1 cup uncooked steel cut oats
    2 TBS maple syrup
    2 TBS sunflower seeds
2 TBS PB2 (powdered peanut butter - I use crunchy)

Tips

I make this in larger batches than I need, and keep the remaining portions in the fridge for quick reheating on busy mornings. Add-ins can be varied of course, but this is my way of keeping track of the smallest amount of added sweetener that I still enjoy the flavor.

Directions

Bring water to a boil, stir in oats. Simmer for 10-20 minutes depending on preferred texture. Then stir in remaining ingredients. Divide into 4 portions.
