    2 lb lean or extra lean ground beef
    1 head cabbage, chopped
    1 yellow onion, chopped
    3 cloves garlic, chopped
    1 can chopped tomatoes
    1 can chopped tomatoes with green chilli
    1 can black beans, rinsed
    1 can red kidney beans, rinsed
    chilli spices or Italian spices to taste
    salt and pepper


1. Brown ground beef with onions and garlic until there is no pink.
2. Chop cabbage, rinse beans.
3. Add cooked beef, chopped cabbage and canned tomatoes to slow cooker and cook on high for 2 hours.
4. Add beans and tomato paste and stir. Season with chilli spices or Italian spices, salt and pepper.
5. Continue cooking in slow cooker for 2-3 hours or until cabbage is soft and cooked through.

Serving Size: makes 16 1.5 cup servings approximately
