Ingredients
-
1 cup raw cashews
2 tablespoons raw chia seeds
1 tablespoon roasted flax seed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Dash ground cloves
1/3 cup sugar
Pinch of salt
8 cups water
Tips
The four cups of homemade cashew milk in this recipe can be swapped out for any other milk replacement you like.
Directions
Soak cashews in cold water for an hour or overnight. Place chia seeds and flax in two cups of warm water, whisking occasionally to keep them from clumping. After ten minutes, place the soaking seeds in the fridge for the remainder of the hour or overnight.
Once they're done soaking, drain and rinse cashews, then place in blender with four cups of water. Blend until smooth. Strain the resulting nut milk through a nut bag, fine mesh strainer, or cheesecloth.
Place the chia and flax gel in the blender now, along with the remaining two cups of water, vanilla, spices, sugar and salt. Blend until smooth.
Combine with cashew milk.
Serving Size: Makes eight 1-cup servings.
