Ingredients
-
3lbs Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast
29 oz Can Tomato Puree
6 oz Can Tomato Paste
1 tsp Salt
3 Green Peppers, cut into thick strips
2 medium Onions, cut into thick strips
4-8oz Mushrooms, sliced thick
1T Italian Seasoning
2 tsp Marjoram
4 clove Garlic , crushed and peeled
1 tsp Pepper, black
2 Bay Leaves
Tips
This can be made in a crockpot, dutch oven in the oven or on the stove. You do not need to freeze it first. But it freezes well if you need easy no thought dinners.
Directions
For the freezer, place all ingredients in a gallon sized ziplock bag, tomatoes first and chicken last. I like to squoosh up the seasonings into the tomatoes before adding the other ingredients.
For the crockpot, take the bag out of the freezer and dump into crockpot on low for 6-8 hours, or high for 3-5 hours
Or cook in dutch oven in 300 degree oven for 2 - 4 hours (depending on if you let your bag thaw a little first - as it is easier to get out of the bag if you let it thaw some). You can also use the dutch oven on the stove top on a low simmer until chicken is cooked thoroughly.
When the chicken is cooked thoroughly, shred with 2 forks and stir to completely coat in sauce. Serve over past or rice
