    35 round won ton wrappers. I used Azumaya brand.
    1 C dry lentils
    .5 tsp Curry powder
    .5 tsp Cayenne
    . .25 Onion Powder
    1tsp Garlic Powder
    .25 Lawry's Seasoning Salt
    .25 Garlic Salt
    Spray Olive Oil Pam
    Water and a pastry or other cooking brush


First rinse and boil the lentils. 2 cups of water to 1 cup of lentils. According the bag I have it says to bring to a boil then lower to a simmer and cover for 30 minutes or until tender. Once they are done I added the seasonings. As you know I never measure my seasonings but I TRIED very hard to measure today for those of you who don't do the smell/eyeball technique that I do. The measurements above worked for me, but if your tastes are different, feel free to start out with smaller measurements and taste until you get something that works for you.
Once I got the lentils to the desired flavor I began to make my "sambusa."

Preheat oven to 350.

I used my handy dandy 4 in on flipper measuring spoon to measure out 1 TBS of filling and placed it in the middle of the wrapper. Then I mooshed it so that it would be in more of a log shape. I then moistened the edges of the wrap using a teeny bit of water on my brush, folded over the won ton, pressed the edges together and then went over them with a fork so that it made those cute little empanada marks.
Lay the wontons on a cookie sheet sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Spray the tops with a bit of cooking spray and sprinkle with chili powder. Bake for about 10 minutes until just turning golden brown then broil for 1-2 minuets. Let cool on a cooling rack and serve.
