Introduction

A moist and flavorful burger. A moist and flavorful burger.
Number of Servings: 3

Ingredients

    12 oz ground turkey (93% lean)
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 tbsp pesto (I use from a jar)
    2 tbsp carrot shavings (or shredded)
    1 tsp olive oil
    3 tbsp oats (cereal type)
    1 oz white wine (use your favorite)
    1/4 tsp poultry seasoning

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a bowl, making sure it is well blended. Heat a tsp of olive oil in a non-stick skillet over med-high heat. Form turkey mixture into 3 equal size balls. shape balls into patties and place in heated pan. Cook until a little over halfway done and flip over. Continue cooking until patties are cooked through.

Note: Not recommended for grill cooking.

    Excellent! I made with ground chicken. Left out the wine and carrots because I didn't have them on hand, but added a handful of shredded part-skim mozzarella to the mix. Served with fresh spinach, yum! - 1/9/09

    These were good - I followed NEPAL1998's advice and served mine with feta over baby spinach. Hubby had his on a whole wheat bun w/spinach and spicy mustard. These would be good with a little feta added to the patty mixture. - 7/29/08

    These are amazing! I used 99% lean ground turkey for even fewer calories and it was still really delicious. I topped it with some baby spinach and low-fat mozzarella cheese for a healthy - and filling - burger! - 6/30/08
