Ingredients

1 tbsp unsalted butter
1 loaf of whole wheat bread, sliced 3/4" thick
6 large eggs
1.5 cup Whole Milk
1 cup Fat free half and half
1 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/4 tsp ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground Nutmeg
1/2 cup Sugar In The Raw
1/4 cup unsalted Butter, softened
1 tbsp Maple Syrup
1/2 cup chopped Pecans
Directions
Using 1 T. butter, grease 9"x13" baking pan.
Place 3/4" slices of whole wheat bread on bottom of baking pan, filling in spaces with pieces of bread.
Whisk together eggs, milk, half & half, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate over night.
In the morning, preheat oven to 350 degrees.
For topping, blend sugar in the raw, remaining butter, maple syrup and pecans.
Remove casserole from refrigerate and sprinkle topping evenly on casserole.
Bake 30-40 minutes or until casserole is puffy and slightly browned.
Serve with additional maple syrup.
