Introduction

Käsebrot, Marmeladenbrot, Apfel, Milchkaffee... Käsebrot, Marmeladenbrot, Apfel, Milchkaffee...
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

2 slices of whole wheat bread
    1 slice swiss cheese
    unsalted butter, half a tbsp
    jam, preferable strawberry, 1 tbsp
    1 medium apple
    milk, half a cup
    fresh, hot coffee or tea

Directions

Heat milk. If you like to, cook coffee or tea to drink with it, but make sure to calculate any sugar ;)

Top both bread slices evenly with soft butter, add cheese to one and jam to the other.
Slice the apple, and enjoy.

I usually pack half of it - half an apple and the cheese bread - to eat as a snack later on, but this way it's easier to track.

MM, Same here. Never came across this before. I can't imagine cheese with jam? I will keep an open mind and might even try. I would think that using Gouda or Havarti with sliced apples might be ok and also German's normally eat Rye bread, not Whole Wheat (Toastbrot). - 11/15/09

I(60) lived in Germany most of my life - this is the first time that I heard of this Traditional German Breakfast - Is this Special in some German County? I lived in a lot of places between Munich and Berlin - but this is unknown to me. - 8/1/08
