Introduction

No one ever guesses the ingredients on this. It tastes like regular white gravy. I added vegan italian sausage to it and served it over mashed potatoes. No one ever guesses the ingredients on this. Ingredients

    1/2 cup Red Split Lentils
    1/2 cup Robin Hood Large Oat Flakes
    1/2 cup raw cashew nuts
    4 cups of water
    1 tsp Onion powder
    1 tsp Salt
    1/4 tsp Pepper, black

Tips

I served half and froze half. I will blend it again after defrosting to serve it.


Directions

Place lentils, oats and cashews in a saucepan. Add water and cook about 20 minutes until lentils are very soft. Blend thoroughly with either an immersion blender or put in a blender, being careful not to burn yourself. You can let this cool off some, and then do it. Add seasonings and blend til creamy like gravy. Adjust salt and pepper as needed to taste. I made it a couple of hours early, then thinned it a bit more and heated it to serve.
