Introduction

I adapted this from my dad's secret recipe. His takes 3 days to make, and I don't have that kind of time! It's very versatile! I adapted this from my dad's secret recipe. His takes 3 days to make, and I don't have that kind of time! It's very versatile!

    1 28oz can crushed tomatoes
1 14 oz can diced tomatoes, no salt added

    1 tbsp basil
    1 tbsp oregano
    2 bay leaves
    1 tsp salt
    3 tsp sugar (optional)

Directions

Heat a sauce pan over medium heat. Add olive oil. Once heated, add onion and garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent. Add the herbs. Stir.
Add all tomatoes, except tomato paste. Stir. Add salt. Let the sauce come to a simmer. Taste the sauce. If it seems very acidic, add sugar. Add the tomato paste and let simmer for 30 minutes or longer, stirring occasionally.
