Ingredients

    1 lb extra lean ground beef ( I use 4%)
    1/2 cup onion diced small
    2 cloves garlic minced finely
    1/2 cup milk
    1/8 cup panko or bread crumbs
    1/2 tblsp basil
    2 tsp italian seasoning
    pepper and salt to taste
    4.5 oz fontina cheese cut into 18 cubes

Directions

Heat oven to 350

mix all ingredients together except fontina cheese

use a 1/8 measuring cup to measure each meatball stuff with 1 piece of cheese and bake

serves 9 - 2 meatballs each

    I doubled the recipe substituting 1lb Italian sausage for 1lb hamburger. I also substituted mozzarella cheese . Froze the leftovers. - 11/8/20

    Incredible!
    Super easy but I dusted them with garlic powder at the end and used mozzarella chucks instead which seemed to help with the oozing out all over the place issue cheese likes to cause. Dipped them in BBQ sauce afterwards then crock potted them for a half hour afterwords on low to glaze them. Super num - 10/17/16
