Introduction

Ingredients

3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 tbsp canola oil
2 large egg whites
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 (19 ounce) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1 cup semisweet mini chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup wheat bran
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.
2. In a large mixer beat the sugar, butter and canola oil until fluffy.
3. Beat in the egg whites and vanilla, then add the chick peas and chocolate chips. Add the flour, wheat bran, oats, baking soda and salt and mix on low speed until a thick dough forms.
4. Drop the dough by tablespoons onto the baking sheet and press with a fork to flatten.
5. Bake for ONLY 12 minutes - do not overbake.
6. Cool and try not to eat all at once!
7. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
