Ingredients

    * Butter, unsalted, 0.50 cup
    * Granulated Sugar, 0.25 cup
    * *Wheat flour, white, bread, enriched, 1 cup
    * Cornstarch, 0.5 cup
    * Salt, 0.15 tsp

Directions

In large bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Gradually sift in flour, cornstarch, and salt, combining thoroughly until the mixture is uniformly crumbly.Press together to form a ball.

Place in center of a lighly floured ungreased baking sheet.
Roll or pat out to a circle 1/8 inch thick. Cut out a 3 inch round in the center but do not remove.
Cut and mark the outer circle into 8 wedges,and prick all over with a fork to make petticoat tails.
Bake in a preheated 300 degree oven for 20 mins, until sandy white and firm to touch. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
Makes 8 wedges and 1 round.
