Introduction

We love chili but neither of us eat red meat. This is a recipe my boyfriend makes that utilizes ground turkey - if your grocery carries Bloemer's chili powder it is the best! Ingredients

    Onions, raw, 2 cup, chopped
    Garlic, 1 clove minced
    EVOO, 4 Tbsp
    Granulated Sugar, 0.5 cup
    Salt & pepper to taste
Tomato Paste, 2 can (6 oz)
    1-2 large can Crushed Tomatoes
    Ground cumin
    Ground Turkey, 2 lbs
    3-4 pkgs Bloemer's chili powder
1-2 cups water (can use more or less depending on how thick you like your chili)

Directions

Saute onions and garlic in olive oil in large stew pot. In separate skillet, brown turkey meat and drain. Combine turkey into onions and mix. Gradually add beans (about 3 cans), tomato paste and crushed tomatoes. Turn heat to low to allow chili to simmer and cook. I like to cook for about 4-5 hours, stirring every 30 min or so. However, if you wanted you could eat after about an hour or so.

Makes one HUGE stew pot worth! I'd say it makes about 12-14 servings. Freezes well.
