Introduction
For cookies that are rich, chocolatey, and decadent-tasting, they seem very low-calorie when you're eating them. They're very like brownies, but you feel like you're eating a LOT more for the same calories. Makes about 105 2-2.5" cookies. Ingredients
-
1 cup butter, soft
2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup light corn syrup
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup cocoa
==================
2 1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
=================
2/3 cup powdered sugar
Directions
1---Soften butter. Whip with sugars, syrup, eggs, and vanilla. Sift cocoa onto mixture, and stir in until fully moistened.
2---Begin preheating oven to 350.
3---Mix together flour, salt, and baking soda. Add to butter mixture and mix in until completely moistened, but do not overmix. Batter will be thick.
4---Drop in 1/2 tablespoons (size of a large grape) on ungreased cookie sheet, at least 1" apart.
5----Bake for about 8 minutes. Prep next round of cookies while the previous set is baking (takes about 4 rounds of baking).
6--- When done, cookies should still be sizzling, but should be just beginning to dry on surface (not wet on surface, but have a slight spotty sheen). Immediately, remove cookies from cookie sheet and cool on rack. Cookies will be quite soft at first, but should firm up as they cool.
7---Completely cool. Gently toss in powdered sugar (if still soft on surface when cooled, sprinkle sugar instead; do not toss). Store in airtight container.
