Ingredients

1 lb. ground turkey
1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice
1 onion, finely chopped
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 Tbsp. butter
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
1 cup water
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
Directions
Cook onion in 1 Tbsp. olive oil until tender; let cool for 15 minutes. In large bowl, combine ground turkey, uncooked rice, cooked onion, salt and pepper and blend well. Shape into 16 meatballs.
In large skillet, heat olive oil and add meatballs. Brown carefully, turning gently to cook evenly. Sprinkle sugar, basil, and thyme over meatballs, then pour over water and the two cans of tomato sauce. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer for 40-50 minutes until turkey is thoroughly cooked, stirring occasionally.
