This recipe is a great side dish to server with many meals. The key ingredient that makes this dish special is the balsamic vinegar. I suggets going to an Italian deli or store and getting a really good, slightly sweet balsamic vinegar. Trust me it makes all the difference. Ingredients

    1 1/2 lbs Fresh Green Beans
    6 slices Cooked Bacon - Crumbled
    1 Tbsp Olive Oil
    4 Shallots - Minced
    2 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar

Directions

Steam fresh green beans to desired tenderness 4 - 6 minutes.
While green beans are cooking, add olive oil to fry pan and sauté shallots in oil until they begin to turn slightly brown, about 10 minutes. Add steamed green beans to sautéed shallots and mix. Add the balsamic vinegar and mix. Salt and pepper to taste. Put into serving dish and sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the top.

Makes 6 1/2 cup servings
